Volunteer opportunities

Venice Family Clinic is looking for passionate and motivated individuals or groups who are interested in making a difference in the lives of patients. See below for many ways to get involved.

Non-Clinician Opportunities

Venice Family Clinic needs non-clinical volunteers to help at our multiple COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

Volunteer Roles

  • Screener/Greeter – Help greet and screen patients for COVID 19 symptoms, check temperature, and direct them to registration area
  • Number Caller – Help call patients to be vaccinated utilizing a color coded numerical system and help guide them to the available vaccinator tent.
  • Observation Area – Help monitor patients for nursing staff in the post-vaccination area, assist patients in enrolling in v-safe website, and help sanitize chairs and other necessary materials.
  • Waiting Area (bilingual) – Help direct patients to registration and pre-vaccine waiting areas, help sanitize chairs, and translate for patients and providers during the visit

In-Person Volunteer Opportunities

Free Food Market
As part of our effort to provide comprehensive care, we also do what we can to address social needs that impact health. Through our free food market program, we provide families with fresh fruits and vegetables. With the help of volunteers, we are able to sort and package over 10,000 pounds of food to provide a COVID-19-safe hand-off to patients and community members in need.

Volunteers Needed for Each Shift: 10-15

  • Monday (1st Monday of the month)

    Shift Time: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

*Free Food Market volunteers must be over 15 years of age and be able to lift over 25 lbs. All activities take place outside. We adhere by all social distancing guidelines and take every precaution to ensure COVID-19 safety.

Remote Volunteer Opportunities

Children First Early Head Start:
Assemble bookmarks or arts & crafts kits with positive messaging and mail in or drop off your items at one of our sites and we will deliver it to our patients.

Gratitude in Action:
Send an encouraging note to our frontline staff or patients. Your words of encouragement or a simple thank you will go a long way during this difficult time.
