$1M Everychild Foundation grant awarded to Venice Family Clinic

Grant Will Fund Renovations for Nonprofit’s New Inglewood Crenshaw Children & Family Center, Providing Integrated Care for 4,000 Residents

INGLEWOOD – (December 2, 2024) – Venice Family Clinic, a leading community health center providing care to 45,000 people in need across Los Angeles County, today announced that it will receive a $1 million grant from the Everychild Foundation to help fund the final phase of renovations for its 16,037-square-foot Inglewood Crenshaw Children and Family Center. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to deliver comprehensive, integrated services for children and families from cradle to career in an area identified as one of the lowest resourced in the nation, according to the Child Opportunity Index.

Once completed, the Center will empower the Clinic to co-locate essential services and provide resources to approximately 4,000 individuals annually, including 2,000 children and youth aged 0-24, as well as pregnant parents, caregivers and adults. It will serve as a “one stop shop” providing integrated medical, mental health and early childhood services through the Clinic’s Community Connection initiative that directly address significant challenges faced by families in the Inglewood area, including economic instability, lack of access to healthcare and limited educational opportunities. Center-hosted programs will include on-site Early Head Start care and education services for 108 babies and toddlers and their families, prenatal and pediatric care, mental health counseling, doula care, job training, insurance enrollment, playgroups and classes, free food markets and more.

“With the Everychild Foundation’s generous grant, we are taking an important step toward realizing our vision of a fully integrated care model that meets the diverse needs of the Inglewood community,” said Dr. Mitesh Popat, CEO of Venice Family Clinic. “This new facility will offer everything from prenatal services to job training, which will pave the way for brighter futures by eliminating barriers and empowering families to overcome extraordinary challenges.”

This is the 25th year of grant-making for the Everychild  Foundation,  a group of women who each make an annual donation to fund an annual $1M grant dedicated to easing the suffering of LA-based children and youth. Everychild has given more than $23 million to help Los Angeles area children and their families.

“Every child deserves the chance to have a healthy and successful life,” said Jacqueline Jacobs Caster, President and Founder of the Everychild Foundation. “The women of Everychild are proud to support Venice Family Clinic in their mission to build a brighter future for children and families in Inglewood. By offering comprehensive support and breaking down barriers to care for a community in need, this center will serve as a local cornerstone for a lifetime of good health and opportunity.”

Once it is open to the public, the Inglewood Crenshaw Children and Family Center will provide comprehensive and integrated care and services Monday through Friday, with extended evening hours and special weekend events to maximize accessibility for working families.
