The Venice Family Clinic vaccinated more than 100 people last week as they recognized National Health Center Week at their clinic at 2509 Pico Blvd.
Through a partnership with DoorDash, they applied and obtained DoorDash gift cards to help encourage patients to receive the vaccine. The gift cards were given to the first 50 clinic attendees. These gift cards were made available through DoorDash’s Project Vax program.
Floreza Silva: Floreza has been a patient at Venice Family Clinic for more than 10 years. She was relieved to get vaccinated. “I feel very good and I hope to be protected,” she said. Now that she’s vaccinated, she wants to see her grandchildren more. “I have barely seen them,” she said. When she received her DoorDash card, she smiled and said she would use it when she sees her grandchildren.
Chelsea Lalgie: Chelsea had been pretty disinterested in getting vaccinated so far, a sentiment shared by a lot of young people, including some of her friend group. “I’m young and healthy,” she shared. “But my mom kept telling me to do it, and I do have some travel plans coming up and know getting vaccinated is required. So I came here.” She does feel relieved now that it’s done. She was excited to use her DoorDash gift card to get a Spicy Chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A.
