When you come to Venice Family Clinic, you’ll find a compassionate team dedicated to providing quality care with dignity and respect. Here are some of the people you may meet:
Dr. Latoya Green-Smith is a pediatrician dedicated to serving families in need through community medicine. She feels lucky to be able to help young people, from newborns to teens, lead healthy lives by providing medical care and advice, as well as meeting their emotional needs. Dr. Green-Smith’s approach is grounded in the golden rule: to treat other people the way she would like to be treated. She wants her patients to walk away from their visits feeling less stressed and more knowledgeable than when they arrived. Dr. Green-Smith is grateful for the opportunity to serve families in the South Bay and appreciates their trust in her and Venice Family Clinic.
Dr. Rita Evazyan is all smiles, all the time – a shining example of the confidence she wants her patients to feel from knowing that their teeth and gums are healthy. You can visit her for any of the Clinic’s standard dental services, including cleanings, fillings, extractions and x-rays. But on any given day, you might also run into her riding her bicycle along Ballona Creek, where she’ll greet you with the same welcoming smile and cheerful disposition you get when you’re sitting in her dental chair.
Olivia Vanegas is a medical assistant at the Clinic’s Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center. The part of her job Olivia likes most is making every patient feel welcome and at ease. She sees that as the best way to make sure that her patients have the best possible experience. She knows that the more comfortable patients are, the more they will be willing to open up about their lives, which gives her a better chance to make sure they have everything they need to get and stay healthy.
Lili Orellana is one of Venice Family Clinic’s stellar therapists. Lili’s calm and comforting presence puts her patients at ease, which is especially important for people who are wrestling with an upsetting situation. In those moments, when her patients’ pain feels insurmountable or fear about opening up too much sets in, Lili listens and tries to help them replace their negative beliefs with more nurturing ones. That’s how Lili tries to achieve her goal of helping her patients improve their quality of life.
Lorna Ocampo-Tatel’s approach as a nurse practitioner is to truly listen to her patients – about how they’re feeling, what’s important to them and what their needs are – in order to make them feel safe and heard. She enjoys giving her patients the knowledge and resources they need to manage not only their own health but also their family’s health now and in the future. She does all this knowing her patients will return because they feel comfortable with her, trust her and know that she will take care of them. When she’s not at the Clinic, Lorna loves making memories with her own family, whether that’s through traveling, cooking or cheering on her son at his basketball games.
Venice Family Clinic provides quality, comprehensive health care to people in need through our network of clinics, Early Head start centers and street medicine program.
