August is National Vaccine Awareness Month!

Aug 1, 2026

Are you and your family up to date on recommended vaccines? As National Vaccine Awareness Month, August is a great time to check and make an appointment to get all the inoculations you need for a healthy year ahead.

Vaccines help protect people of all ages from serious illnesses and have played a major role in keeping our communities healthy.

“By staying up to date each year, we can prevent illness and build a stronger, healthier community,” says Kristina Nava, Venice Family Clinic’s vaccine strategy and community health outreach manager.

Health experts recommend staying current on immunizations throughout life to help prevent diseases before they have a chance to spread. That includes the vaccines you get at different ages and stages like during childhood, pregnancy and older adulthood, as well as seasonal vaccines like those for flu and COVID-19 that you should get every fall.

Here at Venice Family Clinic, we encourage patients to schedule an annual checkup for themselves and their children, so they can review their vaccination records with their health care provider and ask if any recommended vaccines are due. We also offer scheduled and walk-in appointments at dedicated vaccine clinics to help patients and community members stay up to date.

“Getting vaccinated is a simple step that can make a big difference,” Nava says.
